Joan started in the insurance industry as an office manager in 1990. Nine years later she took over the agency, serving as an agent with American Family Insurance. In 2003, she opened a second office in Marshalltown, Iowa. After six years managing both agencies, Joan decided to turn to the independent side as an agent with Interstate Insurance Services to provide more carrier options for her clients.
She enjoys working with individuals and families on their personal lines insurance solutions; however, Joan is available to quote all other lines of coverage required by clients.
Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her own family. With five grandchildren, she stays busy watching them participate in school activities and sports. Joan and her husband, Dick, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary! In their free time, the pair appreciate traveling in their camper and relaxing by a campfire.
Joan was heavily involved with the annual Rose Festival for approximately 15 years, acting as chairwoman a majority of that time.
